In the Wild

Jess was outside looking over the soybean crop this morning...not looking great at this point!

Graybee was taking a catnap under dh's truck...not a great spot to sleep, esp. on the gravel!

One of our resident squirrels snacked on plums in the front yard.  The Newport Plum was loaded with fruit this year, and for the first time since we can remember, the plums ripened and smelled very fragrant.  The fruit is mainly ornamental, I believe, but the robins, rabbits, and squirrels are really devouring them this summer...possibly because the severe drought has limited their usual food sources.

That is about all that is going on around here today.  I'm babysitting later this afternoon while my son and dil go out to dinner tonight.  Have a great rest of the week!

  1. I'm glad the squirrels are finding the berries..... the drought is certainly taking a toll on the wildlife.

  2. Hi Linda, Our Graybee was outside today too - not sleeping but trying to escape. He just doesn't understand he is an INDOOR cat! Frito goes out and just sits on the deck - he's the good kitty. Have an enjoyable evening being grandma! ~Ann
