Rug on My Frame

This was a free pattern insert  printed in the March/April/May 2007 issue of "Rug Hooking " magazine.  The design is by Dorothy Panacek, and measures 14" x 19".  As you can see, I have a way to go before finishing this.  I'm using hand dyed and as found wools in an #8 cut.  I need to get going on this to get more finished before Wool Club on Jan. 6.  Then I need to get back to the large horse rug (Pine Island Primitives)  that has been so neglected for several months!  I've decided that I'm not good at large projects...I get too impatient with slow progress!  Maybe I need to work on my patience this year...New Year's resolution??

Hope you are all having a great 2014 so far.  Our weather has been...mmmmmm....interesting, lately.  We received more snow and it is sooooooo cold outside.  We purchased a heated kitty mat for Graybee...he is not liking cold weather this year.  We placed it on the flat roof of his house on our front porch in the sheltered corner next to the garage/kitchen "L" wall.  When we first put it out, he stayed on it for about 3 days straight!  The weather warmed up a little and he was comfortable enough to get down for a while, and we think he forgot about it for about two weeks.  Now that the temps are MISERABLE,  he discovered it again and has been a fixture on it for two and a half days.  He is so fluffy right now with his long hair.  We have a new little stray cat - a little striped male kitten (born probably last spring) that adopted us and is very friendly.  We named him Simon and he runs into the house every time we open the door.  He is a little pest to Graybee, so a little "friction" breaks out every now and then.  He is very playful and cute.  I don't know what we will do with Graybee and Simon the beginning of next week...the forecast is for minus 14 degrees on Monday...the HIGH that day will be 3 below zero...sigh....I'm ready for spring!  To make it even worse, it is pretty windy, so the wind chills will be WAAAYYY colder than that.  I need to make sure to get some suet cakes to add to the bird seed this weekend.

DH and I are going out with friends tonight for pizza...my birthday is tomorrow, so it will be nice to visit with them tonight...we don't do it often enough.

Hope you all have a great weekend and warmer temperatures than we will be enduring!

Hugs, Linda

  5. Excellent read, I just passed this into a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that.
