Great New Addition to my Hooking Stuff!!

This is all I can do lately!  I don't know if it is the extremely hot temperatures or the fact that I've been spending a lot of time helping my Mom, but all I want to do is sleep.  Trying to watch anything on tv is futile,  because I doze off before the opening credits roll by!  Our daily routines are all crazy since my dh retired...it will take some time to adjust, I guess.

I'm so excited!!  I now have a stand for my Puritan rug frame!  Cathy at  Acorn Hollow  recently had some rug hooking items for sale, so I bought the stand from her.  I've never tried hooking with a stand until now and I LOVE it.  The base slides easily under my favorite rug hooking chair and works wonderfully!  The Puritan frame has a larger work area than my other frames, but is fairly heavy when used in my lap.   I have rarely used the Puritan because of  the bulky size, but now I will be using it regularly.   WooHoo!!  Thank you, Cathy!

I have just begun hooking my Bishop Hill hook-in rug purchase, a large rug called Posy Pony by Sally Kallin of Pine Island Primitives.  Can't wait to make some progress on it and will post progress pictures when possible.

Have a great week!
Linda

  2. I recently got a frame on a stand and love it. It's so nice to be able to slide it under the couch or a chair and hook away. :)

  3. Hi Linda - I have a sit-upon frame that I really like - awhile ago I found a floor stand at the thrift store that was made for embroidery (I think) and i'm hoping I can convert it to work with my rug hooking frame cuz I know that most hookers like them. Wish me luck.......

I bought my Puritan (used on eBay) when I first started hooking. I got a stand with it and I've never tried it. I do a balancing act with my frame rather than move the linen and I know that wouldn't work with the stand. The Puritan has served me well for about 7 years. I'm happy it's working for you.
