Fun Little Wool Heart Pin/Pincushion

I needed a break from hooking last night, so I dug out my "Comfort Zone" project book by Maggie Bonanomi.  I love the projects in this book...very primitive.  The heart pin is very small - 3 1/4" by 1 1/2", and was quick to sew by hand.  It would actually make a perfect tiny little pin cushion, as well.  Little projects like this are fun and provide a little instant gratification.  It could be embellished with tiny seed pearls or little beads, or a little embroidery...I may have to think about that!

Last Christmas, I was in the mood to change some things in my home.  My dining table light was one of the things that I really wanted to replace.  I had had a punched tin "witches hat" cone shaped fixture forever and wanted to update the look a little.  I found this light online and LOVED it.  It has dark metal arms (it is much darker in person...flash made it appear gray) and crystal balls with a glass center globe and glass trays under each light bulb.  Anyway, I love my new dining room light!

Graybee continues to improve and get stronger.  He is eating well and drinking water...he is no longer jaundiced,  and yesterday he hunted and ate a baby rabbit...poor little rabbit.  I hate that about outdoor cats but they hunt instinctively...I just hate to witness it.

Jess is better today...only one short stay under the bed.  I guess the long walk in the woods yesterday improved her outlook!

Happy Wednesday!
Linda

  2. Darling little heart! You could also add a pin back to it and wear it on your lapel sometime! Did you sew it and turn it? Or stitch from the right side? Just wondering cuz it seems like it would be hard to turn something that small made of a bulky wool!

  3. Gayle - I sewed it by hand and left about an inch open on one side of the heart to turn it right side out. It was a little snug, but I took my time and got it to turn. The little heart is technically a pin, but it would make a really cute little pincushion, too!

Thanks Cathy and Gayle for your comments!

    What a sweet little heart!
So glad to hear Graybee continues to improve and that Jess is getting over her jealousy. I always hated that about cats, too! Poor little bunny.
    Hugs :)
