Jess Has New Curtains!
I decided to make a crate cover for Jess' crate. She has a "pup" tent which she likes to go into and hide from the world (esp. when the grand kids come over...a little too much tender loving attention, I guess!) Having the tent sitting around along with all of her beds were taking over the house, so I looked online for crate covers...YIKES...$60, at least! I had some fabric left over from other craft projects, and it just so happened to match my bedroom colors, so voila! a new curtained hiding place for Jess! (I think the fabric looks much better in person, btw! It doesn't seem to show well on camera!)
I sewed ties on the door end of the crate so that we could roll up the flap and make it more comfortable for her to be able to see out. There is a little black skirt all around the top just to give it a little "style."
It was hard to get a good picture of it since Jess, the ham, wanted to be in every picture. She leaned into this shot at just the right moment with a self-satisfied smile on her face.
She really does like her new private sleeping quarters. She goes in there just for fun, and sometimes she doesn't want to come out in the morning.
If you want to make one, it is very simple...5 rectangles (I lined mine) sewn together and four more smaller rectangles if you want a fashionable skirt around the top....ties optional!
It has the Jess Seal of Approval!
Have a great weekend!
Linda
