Finished Rug!

The hooking is finished on the cat with pumpkin rug, and now the "fun" part...hemming!  I'm not sure that I love the border.  I considered several possibilities, but when I drew them around the border, it just seemed too busy, so I decided to just go with a few colors of brown wool and made it random for a couple of rows and then used a darker brown for the last two border rows.

I'm now looking forward to my next rug...whatever that will be.  It is really enjoyable having more time to hook.

For the past several months, I have been attending a "Wool Club" meeting in a nearby town.  There are about 8-10 ladies who meet once a month and work with wool projects.  Most are appliqueing with wool, but for the past two meetings, there has been another rug hooker in attendance.  It has been really fun to have another hooker there.  She is working on her very first rug, so she was encouraged to see some of my rugs and is very enthusiastic about rug hooking right now.  The wool applique projects the other ladies are working on are beautiful, so I'm planning to try it soon.

Have a great week!

  1. Linda,

Everytime I see this rug, I love it more and more. The oranges in the pumpkin are beautiful. I now have 2 rugs that need to be hemmed - need to show them off! Wish I lived closer so I could come to your meetings.
