A Few Pictures!

I'm sorry for the long gap since my last post. I don't know where my time goes. I have been working on finishing the Harvest Moon rug from my March 4th post. I'm doing a whipped edge using wool yarn, and it is very time consuming, to say the least! I've started working on the cat rug again, and hope to actually finish it this time around. I've decided to go with the wool colors that I had chosen and just see how it turns out.

Still in the works is a design that I will take to hook when I go to the hook-in with The Red Saltbox on the 24th of this month. I may just take the cat rug! :0) I can't wait to go!

The above picture is my plate rack that I bought probably 17 years ago in Bean Blossom, Indiana. It came from a great shop with lots of primitives and antiques. The antique bowl on the top is from my collection of big wooden bowls, and measures 14" across. The pewter charger is also 14" in diameter and has initials engraved in it. It looks really old, but I'm not sure of its age. On the bottom shelf is a small red ware plate (6") and three pantry boxes found at antiques shops and one from the Third Sunday Market in Bloomington, IL...a GREAT place to find primitive antiques. The small square pewter plate is not old, but I really liked it.

I think I have mentioned before that I love samplers. The above picture is of a sampler that I bought/won on Ebay about 5 years ago. It is (as you can see) a red work sampler. It is not dated, but I don't think it is really old. I like the look, though.
This sampler is one that I bought in Ohio at a trade show several years ago. Its primitive look and its message appealed to me.

I have started another blog recently. This one is strictly political, and will help me to not offend those who do not want to hear political discussions mixed in with the rug hooking posts. If you are interested in what is going on in our country politically, please click the button at the top right. Hope you have a great week!

  3. I ADORE alphabet samplers, and your's are just wonderful! 20 years ago when I was cross stitching, I wasted my time doing geese and teddy bears - argh! Sure wish I'd done some timeless designs like these!
