This was the scene at our house this morning. Just a little s - sn - sn - snow...ugh, I've said the "s" word. I'm not ready to see this white stuff yet. I was loving Autumn still. I don't want to rush into w.i.n.t.e.r .....not yet....sigh.
I've been in a hooking slump for about a month. Can't seem to spend any quality time working on any thing. My energy level is low and I just feel kinda blah. Maybe I'm a little burned out right now.
Three friends and I went to a local shop's Christmas open house last Thursday and to lunch. It was a wonderful get away day. The shop was totally wonderful with all the Christmas decor. I bought some wide burlap wired ribbon to make some chair swags for Christmas and a Christmas tree topper which was needed to replace our rusty white punched tin star topper. I also bought a heavy iron basket which I love, but not sure I'm going to keep.
I really liked the basket, but it just doesn't seem to work in any area I place it. It was too expensive to not be "wowed," so I'm returning it. The shop had it filled with large pine cones and the ribbon was around it, as well.
Here are some pictures of the very colorful Fall we have had here in central Illinois:
Yes, the last two pictures are real...our backyard really was ablaze with bright red this year!
I hope to get back into the swing of things with rug hooking, so will post pictures of progress soon.

ReplyDeleteWe have had a bit of snow on the ground for a couple days. I've had enough and it can get warm again :)
Though I'd love to win some wool, I'll pass and let someone who needs it more than I do win. Lord knows I've got enough to last at least two lifetimes! Good luck to all who enter.
Hugs :)

Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 200 posts!
I love that basket too, but it would be hard to display with due to those bigger holes! It would be great for storing large rolls of fabric though! Maybe you will think of something amazing before you return it!
Those red trees are just gorgeous too!
Thanks so much for your generous Giveaway! Good luck to everyone!
Warm blessings~
Julie

Cathy
Hi, Linda,
ReplyDeleteI thought that I previously followed your blog with google, but somehow you disappeared off my reading list. I could not figure out how to rejoin, so I used the bloglovin button. I would love to be entered in your wool giveaway. Your red maples in the back yard are spectacular!
Melinda
Love your snow photo and the red maples! I'm in a stitching slump but hooking with our guild each week. The wool stash always welcomes new infusions!
ReplyDeleteHey Linda - We've had snow on two separate mornings, but it's not sticking yet here in Utah. Beautiful colors you got to enjoy - our trees were kinda dismal this year - think it's because of drought conditions. Congrats on your 200th post - I hope you get your hooking mojo back soon!
ReplyDeleteMy maple was that beautiful red this year too. It made me smile every time I looked at it. Congratulations on your 200th post. Please include me in the contest, l can always use more wool!
ReplyDeleteWow the trees were beautiful! So enjoyed your post. I would have trouble taking back the basket. Would love a chance at the wool .
ReplyDeleteThank you
Kathy
2ooth post - wow - congratulations! Would love a chance to win your wool as we get nothing like it in the UK. Plenty of sheep over here, but the shops don't sell the lovely wool you can buy in the US. I have 'wool envy' I think!

Love the little house with the snow on it! Thanks for the chance to be in your contest!
