Busy Summer Greetings, and a New Rug

It has been waaay too long since I have posted, and I really don't have a good excuse...I've been pretty busy, even though I'm technically "off" for the summer. I guess my only defense is that I have not done as much rug hooking this summer as I would have liked, so it was rather embarrassing to confess. It is always more fun to post when you have some exciting new project to share. I do have a recently finished (except for hemming) rug. You may remember my post this spring when I wrote about my trip to Indiana to a Red Salt Box hook-in. This is the free pattern that we received in our gift bag. The pattern is, of course, from Wendy Miller, and is called "Cup of Spring." I liked the finished result, and I think I will hem this and hang it in my living room.

I have periodically checked in on many of your blogs this summer and am envious of all the great camps and rug-related trips you all have taken. You all make me feel like a slacker this summer with your great projects in progress! In my defense, though, I developed a cold the first week of June and it has been on and off all summer with a bad sore throat, coughing, watery red eyes, sneezing, and general tired feeling. Every time I sit down, I fall asleep, which tends to curtail rug progress. :0)

Hopefully, this post will re-ignite my desire to get more rug hooking time in and the result will be more projects to post. Strangely, I've been in the mood to work on Christmas items, lately, so maybe I will surrender to the feeling and work on a winter rug!

Thank you to all of you who have continued to check in on my blog, and again, I apologize for my neglect. Have a great weekend!
